Review Policy

Short version: only real customers, we read everything, and we don't take reviews down because a business asked us to.

Who Can Write One

You need an account and you need to show proof you hired the business — an invoice, receipt, work order, contract, or a card statement line showing the payment. You may black out anything you would rather not share; we only need the business name and a date.

One review per person per business. Your document is stored privately, is never published, and is never sent to the business.

What We Publish

Your honest first-hand experience as a customer, good or bad, including what went wrong and how it was handled. Criticism is not a reason for rejection. Neither is a low rating.

What We Reject

  • Reviews where the proof doesn't match the business
  • Reviews written by the business, its staff, or its competitors
  • Anything that identifies a private individual, or that includes someone's address, phone number, or other personal details
  • Slurs, threats, and harassment
  • Claims of criminal conduct — those belong with the Board or the police, not a directory
  • Anything offered or accepted in exchange for payment

We tell you the outcome, and rejections are recorded with a reason.

How Ratings Are Calculated

The number on a listing is the plain arithmetic mean of its approved reviews, shown next to how many there are. Nothing is weighted, decayed, boosted, or adjusted. There is no proprietary score, and no business can pay to change its rating or its position in search results.

If a Business Disagrees

Any business may post one public reply to a review, and we will publish it alongside. We remove a published review only if it turns out to breach the rules above — not because the business objects to it.

If you believe a review is fraudulent, email us and we will re-examine the proof behind it.

Removing Your Own Review

You can ask us to take down anything you wrote, at any time, without giving a reason.
